The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.
The Acquisition Analysis and Insights Department (AAID) applies innovative acquisition, systems engineering, and data engineering strategies and tools to address evolving needs and threats and to inform customer decisions. In this position, the candidate will aid the department in advancing its systems engineering expertise and capabilities applying digital and data engineering to enable enterprise integration and provide more robust data insights. The candidate will collaborate on multi-disciplined teams and should be able to effectively communicate with all levels of corporate technical staff and leadership. Primary customers include Corporate Offices, DOD, DOE (e.g., NNSA), NASA, and Intelligence Community (IC) agencies.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Associate Member of the Technical Staff in AAID, you will provide lifecycle systems engineering support to multiple customer programs.
- Provide support in identifying innovative technologies and operational enhancements to improve process, design, safety, resiliency/reliability, and/or cost efficiency
- Assist in development/evaluation of requirements, design, verification, and deployment for space, launch, ground, and/or nuclear programs
- Implement analytical techniques to evaluate and optimize systems engineering processes and enable digital transformation
- Support the delivery of independent, data-driven technical recommendations to management and customers through effective verbal and written communication
- Employ a rigorous and methodical approach to problem solving and root cause identification

- From a velocity perspective, the individual in this role will partner with others to reflect on existing technical and process expertise with the goal of improvements in efficiency and timeliness of data and knowledge.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need to be Successful
- Completing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in systems or aerospace engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- 0-1 years experience
- Knowledge of space, launch, and/or ground systems engineering and the ability to communicate related material in an engaging manner
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, proactive, and self-motivated to effectively manage multiple simultaneous tasks
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Strong interpersonal, organization, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to identify and communicate recommendations and concerns to leadership in a diplomatic manner
- Willingness to support tasks requiring occasional business travel
- This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance, issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of the following:
- Industry experience working with space, launch, and/or ground systems
- Professional certification(s) in a related STEM field
- Current TS/SCI security clearance
- Proficiency with Jira/Confluence and establishing workflows
- Familiarity with Python, Java, or other programming languages
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
