$3,000 sign-on bonus for those new to State service as well as $3,000 quarterly retention bonuses through June 2023!!
Who we are: Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute (SVMHI) is a 72-bed Joint Commission accredited state psychiatric facility located in Danville, VA. The hospital serves individuals who are civilly committed and in need of treatment, and/or individuals involved in the criminal justice system who need treatment and/or pre-trial evaluation.
The candidate for this position will provide a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Duties will include a variety of housekeeping tasks to include: cleaning, vacuuming, floor buffing, dusting, emptying trash cans, sweeping, and supplying bathrooms.
This position will work 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.). This position requires working some weekends and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced, behavioral health environment cleaning bathrooms, patient rooms, nursing areas, and other spaces.
Must be a quick learner and able to follow directions.
Must be able to take the initiative to complete tasks with minimum supervision after receiving training.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous demonstrated housekeeping experience working in a hospital, educational setting, or similar facility.
High school graduate or GED is preferred.
