Position Title: Account Coordinator, Truck Operations
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Joe Kinsky, General Manager
Department: International Freight/Domestic
Location: Portsmouth VA Branch Office
Job Summary
The Account Coordinator represents the core of our companies operation as they are responsible for coordinating daily freight load movements on a national scale. The Account Coordinator will deliver customer satisfaction in a time sensitive atmosphere. The Account Coordinator will provide both customer service, dispatching services, and/or pricing analysis as directed. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Interact with the customer receiving load tender, finding and assigning the carrier to the customer in a timely, efficient manner
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments per customers’ requirements
- Confirm and book carrier equipment
- Manage and document customer and carrier assessorial costs
- Ensure and track performance of carriers
- Communicate problems, solutions, and concerns to customers quickly and professionally
- Trace bookings, containers, seal records through steamship web portals
- Assist with dispatch functions as needed
- Meticulous and clear record keeping of pertinent transportation events
- Process freight forwarder documents, such as: Release orders, Packing lists, DO’s, etc.
- Meet all rate request deadlines as selected at time of entry
- Analyze rate options submitted and initiate rate requests
- Must be able to problem solve while able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Minimum Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Required
- Associate’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred
- 1-2+ years of related work experience preferred, but not required
- Experience working with Ports, Freight Forwarders or Customs brokers preferred, but not required
- Team Player with the ability to also work independently
- Strong organizational skills; Can see the big picture while managing tiny details, ensuring deadlines are met
- Driven, enthusiastic, possess a strong sense of urgency, and highly motivated
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
