Position Title: Accountant I

Reports To: Director of Accounting & Finance

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and presenting accurate financial information for decision makers.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Accountant I does not supervise any employees.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Review and retain all supporting documentation for company transactions and activities to ensure accuracy of information
· Manage accounts payable by entering invoices into the system to ensure timely and accurate payment
· Monitor cash flow to ensure availability of cash for payment of invoices due and ensure solvent operation
· Manage accounts receivable process through billing out and collecting fees for goods, services and/or rent; enter in to accounting software to ensure accurately and timely receipt of payments
· Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity.
PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist in preparation of financial and budget information for senior management
· Perform month-end journal entries
· Prepare and file 1099s
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field of study preferred, and
· Two years relevant experience
· May accept experience as substitute for education
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
· Possess accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting knowledge
· Understand GAAP and accrual accounting
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret business communication
· Possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated abilities in Excel and Word
· Understand and maintain confidential information
· Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral forms
· Ability to comprehend written and oral communication
· Ability to proof and check documents for accuracy
· Demonstrate high level of attention to detail
· Ability to review and record data with high degree of accuracy
· Ability to manage multiple, competing tasks and demands and manage time efficiently
· Ability to establish relationships with clients, peers, and management
· Ability to type/keyboard with minimal errors

Frequently requires:
· Standing for up to 1 hour at a time
· Use of color vision and ability to distinguish colors
· Ability to communicate orally and hear/understand oral communication
· Ability to utilize fine motor skills, reach and grasp
Occasionally requires:
· Standing for up to 4 hours
· Stooping and bending
· Moving from one workstation to another
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· This position works in an environment with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
