RIO Real Estate is a medium-sized property management company that is seeking an Accounting Assistant to assist the Accounting Manager with daily accounting tasks.
Position tasks include but are not limited to:
- Creating invoices inside of QuickBooks, tracking balance due, and billing
- Supplies and inventory tracking inside QuickBooks
- Indexing invoices in QuickBooks for tax payments for the accounting manager
- Depositing all accounts payable payments for apartment buildings and tenants’ rent
- Managing all insurance policies for all residential and commercial assets
- Maintaining Vendor Agreements
- Enter and pay bills and credit cards
- Assist with internal audits
- Calling vendors to assist with invoice inquires
- Organization and preparation assistance for accounting projects
Position requirements:
Two or more years of experience are required, preferably in an accounting type of role. Two years of QuickBooks experience is a plus. No property management experience is necessary. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills are necessary along with strong organizational skills and analytical and time management skills. Must be highly attentive to details and accuracy. Ability to recognize the urgency of certain tasks and prioritize accordingly. Ability and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills: clear and direct communication, positive attitude and energy, patience, persistence, and passion for teamwork.
This is a salary position at $55,000/yr. 7:30 AM-4 PM Monday- Friday. Health care, dental, life insurance, vision benefits, and 401k are available after 90 days.
Proven skills with PC and MS Office software, including Excel, and Outlook as well as strong internet skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and pass a background check.
