We're looking for a dynamic Accounting Associate to join our collaborative & enthusiastic finance & operations team. If you’re smart, a self-starter, detailed, enthusiastic, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative, fun, and highly collaborative environment, then we’d like to meet you!
The Accounting Associate is a key person on the Finance & Operations Team. Key responsibilities include:
Corporate Credit Card Management
- Receive and track all corporate account charges
- Follow up on any missing information
- Reconcile bills every month to ensure accuracy for month-end and year-end closing of the books
- Accurately code the charges to the correct general ledger account and project job number (if applicable)
Accounts Payable:
- Receive all monthly accounts payable invoices and enter them into QuickBooks Online.
- Properly code all invoices to the proper general ledger account and project job number, if applicable.
- Ensure all invoices are entered on a timely basis.
- Summarize and recommend to the Controller which bills should be paid on a bi-weekly basis.
- Manage various payment methods including online, automatic, and check payments.
- Maintain the internal check register for accuracy.
- Create vendor information in QuickBooks Online and ensure all necessary paperwork is received before payment.
- Assist our outside tax accountants with the 1099 preparation process once a year.
Accounts Receivable:
- Receive and track all project, and potential project estimates and maintain the associated internal tracking document.
- Meet with the Client Experience team weekly to review project progress for invoicing.
- Prepare client invoices on a weekly, and as-needed, basis.
- Post all invoices in QuickBooks online and our internal tracking documents.
- Send all invoices to our clients and/or submit them in the wide variety of invoice submission systems used by our clients.
- Create reports for clients, such as purchase order tracking documents.
- Complete new vendor paperwork to ensure COHO is set up as a vendor, to be paid.
- Review the Accounts Receivable aging report for past-due invoices. Work with the Controller to identify any necessary collections follow-up.
General Finance Team Duties:
- We want someone who is a self-starter who is eager and willing to learn new things! We believe there is no job too big or too small for anyone on the team. We want someone who will master their core responsibilities and seek out new opportunities to learn new things as part of the finance team. There will be other duties assigned to the Accounting Associate that is not outlined in the job description that could include, but are not limited to, review of timesheet data, report generation, research, being cross-trained, and more!

Desired experience:
- BA/BS Degree or Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in accounting and finance.
- This is an entry-level position, but also the right role to launch your exciting career as part of a finance team.
Highly Desired Experience:
- Experience working in a creative company, or a similar industry that tracks billable hours for project work
- A strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online Accounting System and the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Meetings, Calendar, and E-Mail)
- A proficiency with Harvest Time Tracking System is nice to have, but not required.
Location:
This position is based out of our Cincinnati office. We have a hybrid work environment, with a mix of working in the office and from home. In the first few months in this position, you will need to be able to work onsite at the office daily for up to four to eight weeks.
