Accounting/Finance Associate

Location: SeaTac, WA (in person)

Salary: $60,000-72,000 + benefits, full time

Supervisor: Director of Finance

About the Position:

The Accounting/Finance Associate will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure timely, accurate accounting of ACHD funds. The position will also serve as the organization's central point-of-contact regarding contract/grant awards, and will help ensure that program managers meet deadlines and follow reporting requirements.


Position Duties:

  • Prepare, submit, and monitor all invoicing and reporting to contract/grant funders
  • Monitor accounts receivable activity
  • Review grant award and government contracts, and transfer action items and deadlines into Monday.com or other tracking system
  • Understand the nature of the award by reviewing the project description including RFAs/RFPs/project narratives and other supporting documentation
  • Gather and organize information on financial and narrative reporting requirements
  • Assist Program Managers with deadline management and reporting processes
  • Initiate program kickoff meetings with program leads, department heads, and other implementing staff to communicate key deadlines and compliance requirements
  • Gather all reporting materials and coordinate relevant department head approvals
  • Support program and agency budget development, analysis, and monthly reporting
  • Assist with preparing files and reports for auditors and funders
  • Provide support to the Accounts Payable function
  • Assist the Director of Finance with general administrative tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Excel and QuickBooks
  • Accuracy, strong organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to understand complex written language, and accurate reading skills
  • Team player; comfortable working collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work compassionately and respectfully with diverse array of community members
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and demands, establish priorities, manage deadlines, and work effectively in an energetic environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Background check and proof of COVID vaccination will be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Experience with MIP Fund Accounting and Monday.com
  • Fluency in a language other than English

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
