Weitsman Recycling LLC, a division of Weitsman Family of Companies, the East Coast's largest privately held scrap metal processor, is currently looking for an Accounts Payable Manager at our location in Owego, NY. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and proactive. Given the company’s fast paced environment and desire for growth, the candidate must be aggressive, methodical and organized. Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

• Preparation of financial statements
• Fixed asset accounting
• Ability to prepare financial statement and perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Experience in analyzing the income statement and building in depth analysis to show ratios between revenues, expenses, and related statistical volumes to evaluate ratios
• Experience in building trend analytics for assessment of historic performance and predicting forward performance
• Budgeting of income statements and balance sheets
• Ability to prepare business forecasts to assess business income performance
• Track record in preparing solid Pro Forma information for start-up business units, or recently started companies.
• Responsible for monitoring business investment in various types of businesses
• Strong Cash forecasting capabilities
• Accounting responsibilities will range from core business accounting to help with the accounting for various other companies
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
• Coordinate and complete annual audits
• Provide recommendations
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Requirements and skills

• Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to direct and supervise
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
