Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the cash disbursements accounting cycle for the organization and month end related close process for financial reporting.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
  • Responsible for full cycle AP process including 3-way match of supporting documents and entering payables into ERP for timely payment.
  • Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
  • Assists with month end AP reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Responsible for calculating sales tax and filings with various states.
  • Responsible for making adjusting entries to record all cash disbursements including payroll, taxes, and foreign currency transactions.
  • Manages 1099's
  • Support for Annual Financial Statement Audit and Tax Provision
  • Manages Mexican Peso Bank account sub ledger and account reconciliation.
  • Manages Pre-Paid Expenses Account and Reconciliation
  • Various accounting related tasks as needed.


Additional Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Must have 3-5 years' experience working in Accounts Payable.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel or related programs.
  • Experience with Epicor 10 is preferred all though not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.


Education:

High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred.

Work Environment and Physical / Position Requirements: ·

Compatible with working in a professional office environment · Ability to sit for extended periods of time while using a computer · Ability to hear, stand, move, and bend throughout the day · Use of hands 100% of the workday · Ability to move up to 5 lbs. · Level of vision ability (with or without correction, or reasonable accommodation) to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
