This position processes premium payments and related journal entries.

Essential Functions:

• Receive and process accounts receivable policy payments and new business payments for Medical Mutual and ProAd, including the preparation of remote bank deposits.
• Process daily ACH premium payments, as needed.
• Download lockbox files from bank to process the accounts receivable payments into the AR System.
• Mail reinstatement letters that print out because of a cancellation notice for nonpayment of premium.
• Using Accounting software, input journal entries, as needed.
• Review the daily transactions processed by Underwriting, and prepare necessary adjustments, if needed (i.e., transfers, balance waived, etc.).
• Assist in weekly refunds and billing of insureds, month-end reconciliation and mailing of broker commission statements and checks.
• Prepare and maintain the suspense listing for new business.
• File and maintain accounts receivable reports.

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• If no degree, 2-3 years' experience in Accounts Receivable, and actively taking college courses.
• PC skills and experience with Excel, and computer data entry skills.

• Experience in an insurance environment preferred
• Must possess effective communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to work with accuracy under time pressure.
• Ability to work accurately under time constraints and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
