Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job description
Accounts Receivable Specialist performs daily accounting tasks that supports our Accounting Department by managing account receivables and collection efforts in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
Job Duties
Utilize and maintain working knowledge of applicable accounting methods and procedures that are in keeping with generally accepted accounting principles
Create tuition statements and calculate tuition due
Send tuition invoices, record and reconcile payments
Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts receivable data
Collaborate with the Enrollment & Funding Team with application fees, tracking payments, student funding sources, and scholarships
Provide customer service including conversations with families regarding tuition payments and past due accounts
Act as primary back-up to Accounts Payable Specialist during absences
Provide additional clerical and administrative support or projects as assigned
Adhere to the Employee Handbook guidelines and other workplace policies and procedures.
Comply with and perform the duties and obligations set forth in the Employment Agreement
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, devices, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands and Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, you are regularly and frequently required to: talk; hear; stand; walk; use arms, hands, and fingers; sit; bend; and reach. In addition, you must be able and may be required to:
- Perform some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling (up to 20 lbs. and above).
- Maintain independent mobility to move about the office throughout the day.
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Stand or bend over repeatedly throughout the day.
- Assist in maintaining a clean environment.
- Ability to view large volumes of written materials via computer screen and / or records, correspondence, and documentation for extended periods of time
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications, Requirements and Skills:
- Working knowledge of applicable accounting methods and procedures that are in keeping with generally accepted accounting principles
- Minimum of two years’ experience in business accounting and accounts receivable
- Minimum of two years’ experience in QuickBooks and Microsoft a must
- QuickBooks and Microsoft proficiency
- Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
- Critical thinking skills and problem solving
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
