Responsibilities
Wellstar Medical Group is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work with our well-established Neuro Critical Care team at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA.
Wellstar Kennestone Neuroscience Center is a Comprehensive Stroke Center that serves as a quaternary care center for Northern Georgia and Wellstar’s eleven hospital system. The Neuro ICU is comprised of 23 ICU beds, 9 IMCU beds and an active stroke service. Our Neuro ICU specializes in diseases, such as, acute ischemic stroke/acute ischemic stroke intervention, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial hemorrhage, status epilepticus, brain tumors, spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injury. This inpatient position will allow the experienced APP to provide continuity of care as they see their patients from admission through discharge.
The APP will be required to rotate between the Neuro ICU service. The APP will work directly with the attending physician to provide exemplary care. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: obtaining and writing H&P, daily progress notes and discharge summaries; performing physical and neurological examinations; reading and interpreting imaging; diagnosing and developing a plan; writing orders; performing procedures (central lines, arterial lines, intrathecal medications administration, and lumbar punctures); and communicating with patients and their families.
Qualifications
Previous ICU experience preferred
Must hold an ACNP or AG-ACNP certification or Physician Assistant
ACLS/BLS required
