Full Time Medical Director for Virginia Behavioral Hospital

Life Center of Galax is recruiting a ABPN certified Physician for an Adult inpatient practice in newly renovated 120 bed facility in Galax, Virginia.

The Medical Director is responsible for leadership, quality assurance, oversight and overall medical management of the clinic within the boundaries of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include planning, organizing medical and clinical practices; providing direct patient care and assisting other departments with direct interactions with physicians or medical staff.

Galax, Virginia is the gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The City is rich with tradition, shopping, recreation and scenic beauty and is home to the largest Old Time Bluegrass Fiddler’s Convention as well as the New River Trail. The genesis of today Country Music is in the Appalachian mountains of Southwestern Virginia

We are actively recruiting 2 new physicians to help us provide treatment for our system of Drug and Alcohol and behavioral treat as well as our Opioid Use Disorder facilities which encompass 400 beds in 3-4 facilities. Both physicians would provide services as needed in person or by telehealth. If neither of these doctors were able to come to Life Center of Galax main campus and the New Life Center CTC in Galax at least one day per week to evaluate and admit the methadone patients, we would contract with a local physician who would provide that service.

Additionally there is a need possibly two - NPs who would be available in person at the Galax Main Campus every day (including weekends and holidays) to provide in person assessments and medical service to the patients at that location and one NP or PA who would provide in person assessments and medical service to the patients at the Hillsville location daily, and part-time NP or PA to provide weekly assessments of the partial patients at the SouthStone location.
