DSHS DDA Administrative Assistant 3

The Developmental Disabilities Administration is seeking a motivated, resourceful, and proactive individual with an established and proven history of high performance supporting Senior/Executive level management. In this role, you'll provide administrative support to an Office Chief as well as program and policy staff at DDA Central Office. Your work here will Transform Lives!

Some of what you'll do:


  • Take meeting minutes and track follow up tasks
  • Organize travel arrangements
  • Coordinate work with other areas of the administration
  • Provide record management
  • Serve as a liaison between supervisor and other staff, relaying assignments and requesting status information
  • Assist supervisor in monitoring work processes
  • Provide written translation support for the administrations
  • Provide technical and computer assistance
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems
  • Understand and interpret DSHS/DDA mission, basic program information, WAC, and other regulations
  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and meetings, and set up conference calls
  • Organize the work environment to meet timelines and/or other priorities
  • Respond to voice mail and email messages
  • Observe and report on client, visitor, or staff situations that may be urgent and/or dangerous
  • Generate mass mailings using mail merge into word documents
Who should apply:

Professionals who have graduated high school or have their GED and have at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work. Formal education will substitute year-for-year for the experience.

  • Ability to compose professional and grammatically correct correspondence

  • Pride in work performance to ensure high-quality work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to type 40+ words per minute
