Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual to provide daily administrative and operational support for The Goddard School. This position is 40 hours per week.
DUTIES:
Reporting to the Director of The Goddard School, this position performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions in support of the Center as well as providing direct care to children enrolled at the Center.
- Serves as the receptionist; greets parents and children, answers phones and routes calls, answers inquiries and performs administrative tasks as directed by the Director or designee; opens and/or closes the center in the absence of the Director.
- Establishes, maintains, and monitors files and records related to the administration of the program in accordance with The Goddard School policy and federal/state regulations. Collects, compiles, and organizes information and data to prepare various reports.
- Assist School Director with managing classroom requests and coverage daily as scheduled by the Director or designee.
- Ability to handle crisis situations and respond immediately to emergency situations, especially if children are involved.
- Provide weekly attendance and parent sign-in/sign-out sheets for the program.
- Maintain communication with families including announcements, monthly newsletter, and bulletin boards.
- Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate will have some experience in childcare or early learning and thrive in a dynamic environment with changing daily priorities. Must be highly organized with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with others.
1. An Associate’s Degree from an accredited university with emphasis in early childhood education, business administration or a related field, and at least two years of specialized experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree on a year-to-year basis.
2. EEC Teacher Certification
3. A minimum of one year of experience in clerical support work, which demonstrates ability to perform the work of the position under minimal supervision.
4. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
5. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
