Remote Position

Compensation: $40,850

The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Director, Business Services and Director, Business Services to ensure that administrative tasks are completed, and progress is regularly tracked in every activity area. This will involve working closely with department leads to identify administrative needs and complete them promptly. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for supporting department activities identified by the Director. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will assist the Business Consultants with coordinating weekly hiring events and conducting sourcing activities within the Maryland Workforce Exchange to identify job seekers matching the needs and wants of businesses. (The position is remote, however, you must be local to DC, MD, or Northern VA to attend events, or business engagements, as necessary.)



Essential Responsibilities:


Customer Service

  • Assists the Business Services staff by participating in a variety of marketing activities such as: making cold calls, distributing mass emails, attending job fairs, and attending business chamber or association meetings to increase customer awareness and utilization of the local workforce system
  • Submit expenses for the Director, Business Services and check requests via DocStar

Workforce Intelligence

  • Gathers labor market information from various online platforms and publications such as regional economic reports, Hoovers, Economic Modeling Systems, Inc (EMSI), and the Maryland Workforce Exchange (MWE) to identify short-term and long-term industry workforce trends
  • Prepares and distributes industry workforce reviews to the Business Services staff who are providing job placement assistance to job seekers and workforce intelligence to business partners

Reporting

Uses applicant tracking systems and other databases to track business prospects, secured employment opportunities, talent referrals, placements, and retention outcomes.

Prepares and submits data weekly related to job development efforts, talent recruitment, the selection phase, onboarding, and workforce development programming.

Uses other customer relations management databases to track business prospects, outcomes from initial contacts with area businesses, and follow-up efforts
