Gardner-Webb University’s College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a highly qualified Administrative Assistant to serve as an integral part of the Dean’s Office. The Administrative Assistant performs administrative duties for the Dean’s Office in support of its responsibilities to its multiple constituents. We seek enthusiastic professionals who will likewise enjoy working closely with students, faculty, and staff in a Christian environment. This is a 30-hour per week, benefit-eligible, non-exempt position.
Successful candidates will have significant experience as an office manager and/or with the policies and procedures of higher education.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Oversight of course and classroom scheduling;
- Ability to work in Blackboard, Banner, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.;
- Plan and schedule meetings, presentations, office-related events, and travel arrangements;
- Written communication and reports;
- Supervise students and student-worker staff;
- Monitor and maintain office equipment and supplies; request repair or restocking when necessary;
- Supervise adjunct faculty hiring, financial paperwork, and coordination of performances and/or external guest visits;
- Work independently with general supervision;
- Organized with an attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple tasks;
- Sensitivity to confidential matters;
- Organizing and maintaining digital and physical files;
- Preparing a variety of reports and financial data- including payroll, travel, and budgets;
- Webpage/social media support;
- Other duties as assigned.
The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Dean. It is also expected that candidates will have highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a record of successful interdepartmental collaboration. Rate of pay will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will include a full benefits package.
