Things of My Very Own, Inc. is currently seeking a P/T Administrative Associate to join our fast-paced organization.
Hours: On-site hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8am-1pm (chance of additional shifts). Additional hours are flexible and can be completed from home.
Holiday Hours: Mid November- December 23rd, hours generally change to 8am-3pm on the same days. Four 5 pm-9 pm shifts per year are also required.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering multi-line phones and transcribing messages with accuracy
- Creating, editing and managing documents and forms
- Data entry
- Donation tracking and solicitation
- Scheduling, tracking and ensuring that contracts are managed efficiently.
- Pre-screening clients for eligibility
- Occasional pick-up and delivery of donations.
- Maintaining a joyful, warm, friendly, client-centered atmosphere, etc.
- Assisting guests in crisis situations
- Guest Services (Checking in guests and assisting with paperwork)
Applicants must possess the following skills
- A non-judgmental, positive, outgoing, enthusiastic attitude
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to type at least 40 WPM
- Must be organized and be able to handle specific processes
- Superior attention to detail.
- The ability to multi-task!
- A valid NYS Driver's License, a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- The ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. repeatedly as needed.
- Prior administrative work is preferred but is not required.
- Must pass a criminal background investigation.

Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that provides crisis intervention services to children who have been impacted by extensive abuse and/or neglect. We also provide services to children at-risk of a Child Protective Services intervention, solely due to not having items necessary for sustainability. The organization works to keep children with their non-abusive family members and out of the foster care system whenever possible.
