Administrative Coordinator -Department of Statistics
Job description
The Department of Statistics seeks an Administrative Coordinator to provide support for a composite of several operational functions including fiscal administration, procurement, academic support, student services, communications, and other administrative functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position will organize the general administrative support for the Statistics department as well as provide office reception as the first point of contact to faculty, students, and visitors.
- Respond to students’ questions regarding milestones, academic requirements, wages, stipend, tuition, health insurance, maintain student records, etc.
- Data entry of graduate student milestones into SIS, authorize exceptions (enter approved courses to individual student academic requirements).
- Enter financial aid packages into SAFM each semester and summer funding awards.
- Reconcile SAFM and SIS entries.
- Work with GSAS leadership to resolve financial aid issues related to the GSAS dashboard and award packages. Work with GSAS registrar to resolve student issues.
- Work with Student Financial Services to resolve issues in SIS related to student finance holds or processing of awards.
- Enter department program decisions to Slate for the Graduate Admissions Committee, run reports and track decisions.
- Work with GSAS admissions Office to coordinate responses to applicant queries.
- Provide some fiscal support to the department. Prepare purchase requisitions for departmental office supplies, other events, and work with department manager to confirm fund sources. T/E Purchasing card user.
- Support the Department’s mission by working to facilitate an environment that allows the faculty, students, and staff to perform effectively and efficiently.
- Candidate must possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Serve as a backup to the department manager.
Work is primarily independent, and goals are set in coordination with a supervisor. Work is currently performed on-grounds in Halsey Hall.
This full-time position will remain open until filled. Proposed starting date of July 1, 2023. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
