Coordinate and administer both the DUI and Non-DUI Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Programs as well as Central Court.

Current county employees will follow the county promotion/demotion policy

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for running a minimum of 13 court proceedings a year as well as conducting Central Court at least 22 Fridays per year.
  • Screen over 1500 cases a year to decide eligibility for the programs. This screening process involves contact with police, victims, running RAP sheets, getting driving records, and reviewing police reports. For cases that are eligible and approved for ARD, determine license suspension term and other conditions that must be met by the applicant to be accepted into the program.
  • Oversee all applicants to ensure they complete program requirements by the deadline given. If requirements are met, schedule applicant for an appropriate ARD court date.
  • Both before and after the ARD applicant appears in court, responsible to coordinate with the Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case, the Court, the Clerk of Courts, Court Administration, and Probation.
  • During DUI ARD and Non-DUIARD court days responsible for the following:
    • Address all defendants and go over all their requirements and conditions.
    • Ensure all court costs and fees have been paid prior to court.
    • Call the cases incourt and providing relevant case specific input to the ARD Judge.
  • Once a person is approved by the Court for entry into the ARD Program, responsible to supervise them through their administrative probationary period.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for defendants, victims, law enforcement, defense attorneys, and counseling agencies concerning the ARD program and Central Court.
  • Provides information to out of county court officials, law enforcement officers and the general public concerning the two types of ARD programs run by the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office and Cumberland County's Central Court process.

Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION/TRAINING:
    • High school graduate
    • Experience with Windows, Microsoft software, and Microsoft Excel
    • County government and/or criminal legal work experience a plus.


  • WORK EXPERIENCE:
    • Supervisory experience in a professional office OR any acceptable combination of criminal legal work experience and/or specialized training that relates to the essential functions required to perform this job.
