University Business Administrators - College of Law

Responsibilities


Responsible for managing administrative & human resource functions at the College of Law including employment/recruitment, compensation, classification, and training & staff development.

  • Responsible for managing departmental HR transactional functions for the College of Law and its respective centers and institutes. This includes recruiting, hiring, I-9s, onboarding, personnel actions, position description changes/updates, evaluations, time & leave, FMLA, & workers compensation.
  • Manages active appointment reports, spreadsheets, and payroll cost center reports, ensuring accurate data.
  • Responsible for researching and initiating processes required to correct errors and ensure proper payroll payments.
  • Maintains department personnel files in compliance with Federal, State, and University laws, policies, and guidelines and serves as records custodian during position searches.
  • Initiate ways to improve College HR work flow.
  • Interprets, recommends and implements policies and procedures with the deans and management personnel to ensure adherence to federal, state, university, and college laws, rules, policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring HR compliance at the College of Law.
  • Serves as a resource for College of Law supervisors to ensure they have a good understanding of the University policies and procedures.
  • Guides and advises supervisors through the recruiting process. Serves as liaison with Central HR.
  • Manages appointment spreadsheets and provides regular rate management staffing reports to college leadership to track faculty and staff rate.
  • Serves as liaison and interacts with fiscal, human resource, academic personnel, and administrators throughout the College and University. Serves as back-up Purchasing Rep and P-Card holder the College. Serves as a backup FACET representative.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and ad two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.
  • Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of human resource administration in assigned area.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and practices.

Anticipated Salary Range


Starts at $40,910 and commensurate with education and experience.
