Job Description

The main job function of the position is to perform a variety of specialized clerical duties and responsibilities within the assigned department.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the selection of criminal juries.
  • Distributes, dockets in computerized case management system, scans, and files all correspondence and documents filed with the department.
  • Answers telephone and takes messages or transfers calls to proper individuals.
  • Greets and assists general public by taking or providing information, receiving payments, or directing them to proper locations.
  • Prepares and processes required department documents, forms, and reports as required.
  • Operates computer, scanner, copier, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Expunges cases when ordered by the Court.
  • Completes work produced by the assigned Judge.
  • Attends meetings and / or training sessions as required.
  • Attends in person or online criminal court proceedings in assigned courtroom to include gathering and dissemination of data for other departments and criminal justice agencies regarding the outcomes.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus some additional secretarial and computer training
  • Must be proficient in data entry/typing
  • 3-5 years working experience in an office setting and with the public preferred
  • Legal experience is a plus
  • Must possess the technical knowledge of operating personal computers and other office equipment with accuracy and reasonable speed
