Job Summary

Essential Functions
Representative Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Special Projects Director and/or Administrative Assistant III, job incumbent:
1. Assist programs with facilitating or providing training opportunities, wellness events and educational resources as requested.
2. Work with village councils, school districts, Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center, TCC Health Service programs, and other entities within the TCC region to provide resources and services for Wellness and Prevention program.
3. Network and collaborate with other Tanana Chiefs Conference programs and partners to assist in the achievement of grant objectives, grant requirements, and prevention activities.
4. Monthly or as requested distribution of resource materials for communities on Wellness and Prevention programs.
5. Record meetings and prepares meeting minutes and other correspondence for Division Wellness and Prevention.
6. Maintain resource library to ensure it is fully stocked and organized.
7. Organize various activities and coordinates the setup of meeting and trainings within Wellness and Prevention.
8. Coordinates office assignments and provide administrative support for temporary and contracted staff.
9. Assist with coordination of travel for Division of Wellness and Prevention.
10. Assist with shopping needs of the Division of Wellness and Prevention.
11. Compile and generate monthly and quarterly reports.
12. Assist with the coordination of Tribal Advisory Council meeting logistics.
13. Participate in travel, trainings, meetings, and culture camps as assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate’s degree in health related field or business related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience may substitute for educational requirements.
2. Three years experience as an administrative assistant.
3. Demonstrated experience in facilitating and providing trainings and workshops.
4. Must pass background check pursuant to Alaska DHSS and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.
5. Valid and clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong computer skills, with experience in Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, and the Internet.
2. Knowledge and ability to adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations.
3. Ability to cultivate respectful and collaborative working relationships with individuals in the community.
4. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Knowledge in health lifestyle initiatives.
5. Demonstrated skill in working in a rapidly changing environment.
6. Strong multi-tasking and presentation skills
7. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
8. Knowledge of Alaska Native cultures/systems and ability to work with the indigenous population.
9. Knowledge of communication strategies, writing techniques, report preparation and grant writing.
10. Ability to travel throughout the TCC region to work with Tribal governments, local schools and advisory board, youth groups, and wellness groups.
Supervision: This position have no supervisory responsibility.
