JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Admissions Support Coordinator will coordinate all admissions activities for the Department of Physician Assistant Program. This position provides annual updates of program admission requirements, updates to the program CASPA application form, coordination of recruitment events, coordination/execution of interview days, communication with applicants, notifications to applicants and matriculation of accepted applicants.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs annual updates of program admission requirements.

2. Reviews and processes student applications and/or documents; reviews and/or compiles and updates student credentials needed for admissions status; enters and monitors required data into integrated student database. Monitors progress of applicants.

  • Screens applications of potential students in the Central Application for Physician Assistants system (CASPA) based on established criteria.
  • Circulates application contents to appropriate Faculty; verify validity of transcripts and references.
  • Coordinates student interviews including invitation; day of event, and follow-up, with potential student, faculty, and community participants.
  • Assists with departmental academic events such as new student orientation, white coat ceremony, graduation, and student visits.
  • Proctors exams as needed.
  • Coordinates with One Stop Shop, Registrar and Bursar offices to ensure all enrollment requirements are met.
  • Assists with handling of email and phone inquiries of prospective students by ensuring all receive appropriate responses.
  • Attends recruiting and admissions events across the state.
  • Assists with day-to-day financial operations for the departmental accounts; processes purchase orders, invoices, internal transfer vouchers; reconciles procurement card accounts and ledger accounts in the IRIS system.
  • Assists in the continued preparation of ARC PA accreditation by providing documentation related to ARC PA Standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience in health care or higher education administration; OR a combination of related college coursework and related work experience to equal four (4) years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and proof documents for accuracy.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively and proactively.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally work evenings and weekends with occasional travel.
