DENSO is looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist in the Battle Creek, MI. Under limited supervision, this individual will provide support for month-end closing requirements including fixed assets, journal entries, banking, financial reporting and closing requirements. They will also act as a liaison between multiple departments to resolve issues or answer inquiries.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs advanced accounting functions including monthly account reconciliations, monitoring certain monthly accruals and preparing journal entries in order to ensure proper reporting financials.
• Maintains and analyzes fixed asset ledger in order to ensure purchases are classified properly and fall within budget.
• Performs and analyzes monthly closing and various daily activities in relation to inventory and cash management.
• Ensures internal controls are operating correctly with the goal of zero deficiencies through JSOX auditing.
• Performs financial analysis and assists in financial reporting activities in order to ensure proper recording of transactions.
• Investigates and analyzes accounting and financial related data in order to reconcile and audit information.
• Assists with process improvement activities including maintaining and implementing internal controls.
• Acts as a liaison between internal departments and other DENSO locations in order to resolve outstanding issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3-8 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS is required, along with an understanding of current accounting operational structure (financial close, gross profit, J-SOX, etc.)

Salary:

• $73,000 - $79,000
