CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position:
The United States Navy's Ohio Class Submarine Force provides 70% of our Nation's nuclear deterrence mission. In addition, modified Ohio Class Submarines provide our Navy unprecedented strike and special operation mission capabilities. Put your engineering talent and experience to the ultimate test in Kings Bay Ga. GDMS supports eight Ohio Class Submarines. These submarines deploy the most accurate and reliable weapon system ever developed. Some examples of the work you will do on daily basis: Maintain custody of and handle the MK 6 Trident II D5 Guidance System. Repair the associated MK 6 Guidance Support Equipment. Test the Trident II D5 Missile in the Missile Assembly Buildings and Vertical Missile Packaging Buildings. Operate overhead cranes and fork lifts. Obtain and utilize critical skills; Solder/Wire-wrap/Crimp. Compile data and generate reports. Manage a Personal Computing Device exchange pool. Participate in Strategic Weapons System and Attack Weapon System Modernizations. This position requires our adherence to MIL-STD-1472G (5.8.6.3) DOD Design Criteria standard for Infrequent Lifts.
