What We Do

Because we have three main divisions to our company, our services are many. If chosen for the After Hours Dispatcher, you have the opportunity to work from your own home. Through Pro-Tow and Pro-Enviro, we also offer 24-hour automotive and heavy duty towing services, as well as semi truck accident recovery and spill containment. When required, Pro-Tow will provide load handling and load recovery services as well as on-site truck repair.

Our standard business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but we offer 24-hour towing services. Therefore, we require several after hours dispatchers to answer our phones and dispatch our drivers and technicians as needed.

About the Job

• Shifts may vary, but ALL will be AFTER the hours of 8am to 5pm M-F. Plus some holiday hours. We may be able to accommodate particular days or shifts you can work or can't work, but would prefer some flexibility to accommodate other teammate needs for time off.
• An average weeknight (from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM) will receive 8 to 16 dispatched calls. We also average 6 to 8 incoming calls per dispatched call.
• Weekends have similar call averages with a wider various. Holidays are generally 50% less volume with wider variances.
• You can do other things while working on call, but must have a laptop awake at all times for electronic dispatch notifications. You must have the phone system and your computer nearby, to immediately answer and respond to every call.
• Pro-Tow will provide a multi-line desk phone and a portable phone. Our phone equipment plugs into your home internet and connects virtually to our phone system.
• You must have your own laptop that is modern and in good working order with sufficient internet access.
• You'll have access to an on-call supervisor at all times.
• We utilize Microsoft Teams for consistent conversation and communications throughout our operations.
• Additional information:
• This is a W-2 Position, not a 1099 position.
• This is an overtime and minimum wage exempt position in compliance with RCW 49.56.130 and 49.46.010. This is because you can reside and/or sleep at the place of employment (your home), spending a substantial portion of your worktime not engaged in active duties.

Types of Calls

• Impounded cars: Customers that have had their cars impounded can be frustrated and less than pleasant. These callers must be served in a formal, legal manner.
• 911 dispatchers: When there's an accident, 911 dispatchers will call for tow services. They require quick, professional and immediate response.
• Private customers and companies: When clients require our towing or mechanical repair assistance, they require attention to detail and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• Must have a desktop or laptop computer with Windows, preferably Windows 10 or later.
• Good computer and typing skills.
• General knowledge of the state of WA and extremely proficient with Google Maps.
• Proficient with professional phone answering and multi-tasking under pressure.
• Can live anywhere within the State of Washington, but must be able to visit our Auburn, WA office for daytime training. The number of training days will vary depending on the person, but plan for 20 to 40 hours total before being ready to work on your own.
• Must not use drugs (including marijuana at all, in any method, and have not anytime within the last 6 months) and cannot consume alcohol during working hours.
• Must meet WSP criminal background check standards.
