Houghton State Bank in Red Oak, Iowa is adding a member to their Ag & Commercial lending team. Entry level candidates will be considered for this role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone that has a background in agriculture, and a bachelor’s degree in agri-business, finance, ag econ, business, or a related field. The bank will teach and train with a hands-on approach and provide the proper credit training to build a foundation. The person hired must have the desire and ability to be the face of the bank in the community.

Responsibilities

• Soliciting, negotiating, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of loans in compliance with the bank’s lending policies and procedures
• Analyze & prepare loan applications for loan committee
• Network and community involvement
• Develop new relationships, and maintain existing customer relationships
• Facilitate annual farm visits, and inspections as needed
• Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships

Requirements

• Strong Ag background required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Ag, Business or related field
• 0-3 years experience
