Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Aging Care Manager 1 in the Northern Dauphin Office. This position may develop care plans for older adult consumers through an evaluation of the consumer’s social contacts and supports, their activities of daily living, status of their cognitive function, their physical health, and their economic and other resources. The Aging Care Manager 1 develops and maintains professional relationships with social service agencies and other community resources to meet the needs of clients and to ensure an appropriate continuum of client care.

The Aging Care Manager 1 is supervised by the Aging Care Management Supervisor 1. This position will work out of our Northern Dauphin Human Services Center, which is located at 295 State Drive, Elizabethville, PA 17023. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Applicants with an associate’s degree or higher with at least 12 credits in social sciences and one year of experience in public or private social work may be eligible for a Care Manager 2 position with a higher starting rate. Please refer to our open job opportunities on our website to apply.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements

A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college-level credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences; or three and one half years of experience as an Aging Case Aide and an associate’s degree with 12 college-level credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences; or any equivalent combination of experience and training and an associate’s degree including successful completion of 12 semester hours credit in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.

A resume along with a copy of either an official or unofficial college transcript(s) must be attached to the application.
