Ammonia Refrigeration Manager
Cold Storage Solutions is a family owned and operated cold storage company operating 5 ammonia refrigeration facilities in the Lakeville/Middleboro area. All 5 facilities are located within 3 miles from one another. We are seeking a qualified Ammonia Refrigeration Manager to join our team. Candidate must have substantial working knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and equipment including but not limited to compressors, evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers, etc.
Requirements:
- RETA CARO or CIRO Certification
- Knowledge of IIAR, EPA, and PSM Guidelines
- Advanced knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and troubleshooting skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities
- Industrial Maintenance experience
- Reliable, dependable, 24/7 support mentality
- Strong reasoning, analytical, prioritization, and problem solving skills
Job Description
Responsible for managing daily maintenance activities and operation of ammonia refrigeration systems. Ensure safe and efficient operations by directing the installation, maintenance, and repair of the refrigeration equipment. You will coordinate on-site support, drive rapid troubleshooting of equipment during downtime events, and resolve system troubles and failures. You serve as an expert who understands industrial refrigeration, Process Safety Management (PSM) and overall system optimization, controls logic, and facilitates and trains effective troubleshooting techniques. Candidate will manage contractor and internal relationships appropriately and professionally. Must have 24/7 support mentality when needed.
- Maintain expertise across all aspects of our refrigeration system equipment, including but not limited to compressors, evaporators, condensers, and all related ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Ensure overall safe and efficient operation of ammonia refrigeration systems and equipment.
- Lead the refrigeration team and manage contractors conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on the system.
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on equipment.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and documentation of all maintenance activities.
- Perform equipment inspections, system checks, and auditing of ammonia refrigeration processes and equipment.
- Lead root cause analysis and incident review to eliminate future recurrences of downtime events.
- Serve as 1stlevel response for system failures, ammonia alarms, and critical malfunctions.
- Oversee drills for EAP alarm scenarios, including investigations into ammonia alarms.
- Champion safe work practices, permit to work systems, management of change, and adherence to all safety and environmental regulations.
- Direct and assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades.
- Plan and execute projects in conjunction with leadership and contractors.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (7:00am – 4:00pm)
- Emergency Response and weekend rounds on rotating schedule
