  Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.

You Will:

• Ensure compliance with legislative changes that affect payroll/ withholding and reporting and all payroll/tax regulations
• Be responsible for W2 and other tax filing forms, reconciliation, adjustments, and amendments and you will ensure the timely submission of files to our tax filing vendor
• Create federal, state, and local tax payments and quarterly/annual tax returns for ADP
• Pay all tax liabilities timely and accurately in compliance with taxation requirements of Federal, multiple State and Local tax jurisdictions
• Ensure tax compliance for employees working remotely in a multistate taxation setup
• Submit registration requests to ADP for state and local tax jurisdictions
• Audit and reconcile tax payments, and quarterly/annual tax returns to balance payroll liabilities
• Audit tax compliance based on Biweekly and Daily tax reports that include employee address changes, Job changes, and Work location transfers
• Ensure compliance with Non-Resident Alien taxation and perform tax treaty analysis using Thomson Reuters Tax Navigator
• Research, and respond to employee questions about tax withholding
• Lead year-end processing for all phases of the W-2, 1042-S, 1098-T, 1099

You have:

• 4 + years of experience in payroll administration, including knowledge of Foreign National Tax, W2 reporting, and State, Federal, and Local regulations in a multi-state environment
• Strong proficiency in HR and payroll earnings, deduction transactions, and payroll withholding components of a paycheck; including how they affect taxation and reporting based on employee/student type - including nonresident aliens
• FPC or CPP certification
• A subject matter expert for employee withholding, W-2 forms, and employment tax returns
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication and time management skills along with the ability to work in a team environment and establish collaborative relationships with peers
