A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group,and is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, cannabis, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.

Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
Our Wilmington, NC PFAS laboratory is currently seeking at Analytical Chemist to support method development, implement new methods, and support sample analysis. Analysts perform chemical measurements and other tasks to meet the expectations of our clients by efficiently and profitably generating defensible data on time.
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Quantitative sample analysis of PFAS samples
- Understand the purpose of the testing and conduct troubleshooting analysis
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation, analysis and equipment maintenance
- Sample and standard preparation
- Preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports.
- Instrument calibration, validation, and troubleshooting
- Maintain consumables and parts for LC/MS/MS instruments
- Write and assist with updating related SOPs
- Obtain from Leaders or peers a complete understanding of compliance criteria for the tests, technical training, and procedures they are performing at specific workstations
- Inform group leaders or peers of their understanding or any situation that is out of compliance
- Document all significant events in the measurement process clearly and completely. .
- React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company
- Compliance with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Assist in training on lab duties, assay work, and other duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience (academic or professional) preferred in cell biology, biochemistry, physiology or toxicology/pharmacology
PERFERRED SKILLS
- Minimum of 1-year experience running an LC/MS/MS required
- Experience using MassLynx software preferred
- Knowledge of analytical method development a plus
- Must be flexible in work schedule (including Saturday) and able to work overtime
- Well organized and have an attention to detail
