Companion Animal Clinic in Gilbert, Iowa is looking for a part-time Animal Caretaker to join a growing team in a fun environment. As an animal caretaker, your duties include facility housekeeping and kennel responsibilities. You are expected to provide extraordinary customer service and patient care at all times. As a member of the Companion Animal Clinic team, you are to maintain a professional demeanor at all times, use appropriate medical terminology and support practice ownership, management and fellow team members. An Animal Caretaker is under the direct guidance and supervision of the Practice Manager and the Veterinarian(s).

Facility Maintenance

• General cleaning and sanitization of public and employee areas, building/yard maintenance, and kennels to maintain a clean, odor-free, and attractive environment

• Housekeeping and laundry duties for all areas

• Inform appropriate person before food, drugs and supplies run low

• Maintain a continuous cycle of laundry, keeping clean bedding available for use at all times.

• Daily sign-off on all area checklists

Kennel Responsibilities

• Ensure all patients in the hospital enjoy the highest level of comfort and care. This includes the following:

• clean cage

• comfortable, clean, and dry bedding

• traction and additional bedding for elderly, disabled, or unstable patients

• fresh water available at all times

• litterbox for cats

• food as indicated on chart

• accurately maintain records

• administer meds when needed

• Exercise

• Observe for signs of illness

Administrative

• Participate in monthly team meetings

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
