Position Summary
This position reports to the Team Leader of In Vivo Testing (IVT) and works closely with IVT team members. The successful candidate will perform activities necessary to maintain in vivo testing schedule and drive related compliance activities for the area to closure (e.g., Quality Control regulatory documentation and processes for compliance with USDA, Animal Welfare Act (AWA), EU, FDA, International Market, GMP regulations, Global Quality Standards, and other applicable regulations, as well as site policies and procedures).

Position Responsibilities
Perform assigned laboratory animal testing independently
Perform injections [vaccinations / inoculations (IM, SQ), treatments (IM, SQ, orally, IV, topically)]
Lead change control processes for regulatory documents (outline / monograph / BOMS / LIMS) changes. Includes management of ETS actions including LIMS, MCD revision, Impact assessments, etc.… Maintain Animal Use Protocols (AUP) on behalf of Principal Investigator(s). Maintain the inventory of critical reagents and coordinate the shipping of reagents. Review and audit testing documentation prior to, during, and at completion of assays. Perform process checks of areas and processes to ensure compliance. Drive Internal or Regulatory Agency audit compliance action items to closure. Management of Outline Review process for the area. Assist Regulatory Compliance w/ annual assessments for the area (i.e., blueprints and legends). Assist with completion of periodic product review (PPR) commitments. Lead and/or participate in compliance investigations. Complete projects assigned by specified timelines. Establish/Maintain standard operating procedures and curriculum governing program and assure compliance with the program standards and procedures. Maintain the highest possible degree of scientific acumen and personal integrity in completing work.
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:
Two years of relevant experience in lab animal science or equivalent experience. General understanding of contemporary & traditional animal testing techniques and related documentation. Previous experience working with rodents, farm, and companion animals. Experience with USDA (9CFR) and AWA regulations.
Preferred Candidate Qualification:
Prior quality assurance experience regarding documentation and change control systems.
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Demonstrated ability to write and review technical documents with demonstrated high level of attention to detail. High integrity and self-motivation. Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and team/group interactive skills.
Physical Position Requirements
A considerable amount of time will be spent sitting / working at a computer and processing paperwork.
