Overview:

NSI-MI Technologies is a world leader in microwave measurement systems including antenna, radar cross-section and radome testing applications. Key components of these systems are a variety of antenna products used as near-field probes, far-field range illuminators, compact range feeds and precision gain standards, covering frequency bands ranging from below 100 MHz up to 1 THz.


The Antenna Engineer, located in our Greater Atlanta Office (Suwanee, Georgia), primarily develops new antenna products suitable for the stringent applications of highly accurate measurement systems. The typical development process includes defining specifications, conceptual design and simulation, overseeing the development of mechanical drawings and fabrication of prototypes, testing/troubleshooting, creating production documentation and user manuals, and ultimately supporting on-going manufacturing and test of both new and existing products.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategy and roadmap for antenna development
  • Create innovative antenna design concepts to meet the demand for broadband, dual-polarized, cost effective designs
  • Work with customers to propose custom designs that meet their requirements
  • Occasionally utilized as a technical advisor to provide insight regarding the company’s internal antenna test facilities and test service business
  • Opportunity to learn more about near-field, far-field, compact range, and other measurement techniques and to provide antenna expertise and insight to the group

Required Skills:

  • A proven capacity to design, fabricate and test microwave antennas
  • Experience with one of the 3D EM simulation tools such as CST, HFSS or FEKO
  • Experience with antenna test systems, including link budget analysis, anechoic chamber principles and manufacturing of microwave antennas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multiplex

Desirable skills:

  • Understanding of near-field and far-field test methods, radome test systems and radar cross-section test systems

This position may require occasional domestic and international travel.

Ability to obtain or have a U.S. Government security clearance.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19


Experience Level: 5 years minimum experience in antenna design


Education Level: Education Level: MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering with research/thesis work on antenna design
