JOB SUMMARY
The Applications Engineer is primarily an inside sales support role. This person will develop and propose solutions to fulfill customer need(s) by leveraging Cybertrol’s capabilities. For most applications, an Applications Engineer can specify services, equipment, and software that will meet the defined scope, but may also work with Engineering staff to identify an appropriate technical solution for uncommon or specialty applications.
Ability to travel up to 10%, including scope definition visits to customers, quarterly business reviews to account related sites, and trade show attendance. A valid driver’s license is required .
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Create estimations and present proposals to internal and external customers

Work directly with Business Development Managers and clients to understand the client’s business and define relevant project scope

Identify services, equipment, and software to meet the defined scope

Work directly with all Cybertrol departments to gain information to be used in solution estimations

Present proposals to the client, clearly articulating how our proposed solution responds to their need(s)

Consult on solutions with customers’ technical teams

Interface and present to Engineering and Plant Operations Management

Build and maintain vendor relationships by becoming certified and/or registered within the organization (i.e. Cisco, Panduit, VMWare, etc.)

Remain current on customer preferences and options by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows and reading trade journals

Support business development initiatives by consulting with customer, managing requests, and proposing upgrades

Maintain relationships with specific house accounts
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related experience
-
Engineer/Software II level of experience minimum
-
2 years minimum experience delivering Automation Projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to offer a level of technical support for the Business Development team, including system support, general troubleshooting, and project technical assistance

Must be effective at overcoming resistance and able to work independently

Must be effective at technical writing, multi-tasking and following workflows

Must be able to work independently

Ability to architect and present technical solutions to both technical and non-technical customer contacts

Desire to continuously learn about new technologies and applications

Maintain proficiency in using MS Office and Cybertrol internal applications

Occasional Control panel IO powered checkouts in panel shop or customer site
On-Site working conditions may include:

Work around construction equipment and personnel. -
Work around production equipment and production personnel.

Work in hot or cold areas.

Work in noisy areas.

Work up and down stairs, indoors and outdoors.

Electrical/Instrumentation Device Checkout and Troubleshooting. Includes voltage testing, equipment troubleshooting on a ladder, and light electrical assembly – signal wiring in control panels/instruments.

Working and interfacing with operations, engineering, equipment supply, and construction personnel.
Typical Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) Required: Safety Glasses, Steel Toed shoes, hearing protection, and electrical safety PPE. Employees must comply with customer specific requirements and PPE.
Work may include working weekends, holidays, nightshift, and extended hours to meet deadlines and commissioning requirements. Occasionally on-site work can be 12+ hours/day.
