Our client, Automated Tooling Systems is seeking an Applications Engineering Manager to join their team. As an Applications Engineering Manager, you will be part of the management team supporting the Applications Engineers. The ideal candidate will have customer facing experience, the ability to forecast and the ability to work with a wide variety of teams which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Applications Engineering Manager
Location: Wixom, MI
Pay: $125,000 - $135,000

Key Responsibilities

• In projects where technical complexity is large, the applications engineering manager will involve key members of engineering and supply chain management in risk analysis, POP activities, VTS and cycle time development, conceptual layout and costing.
• Responsible for the quality and content of proposals issued by the Applications Engineering Department for all types of automation equipment and projects.
• Travels to the customer’s site to assist in FEOB sales activities and proposal development support.
• Reviews initial concepts with applications engineer to ensure proper direction is taken; approves final concept prior to costing.
• Reviews and approves final costing as part of the TCC process.

• A post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, engineering or equivalent career experience.
• Five years’ experience in mechanical or electrical engineering support, preferably in an automation environment
• Must be familiar with the use of computerized word processing & computerized spreadsheets and AutoCAD or similar drawing package
• Five years’ experience in mechanical or electrical engineering support, preferably in an automation environment.
• An ability to present ideas, concepts and pricing information in a clear, concise manner suitable for technical audiences is essential. In addition, must be familiar with the use of computerized word processing & computerized spreadsheets and AutoCAD or similar drawing package
