Application Development Manager (Carmel, IN)
Summary
Direct hire opportunity for an Application Development Manager to join the BeneSys technology team. Ideal candidate will have a cross-functional technical background, strong leadership/mentoring skills and the ability to direct multiple development teams toward common goals. The candidate will be focused on establishing technical and functional solutions to meet the needs of our SaaS clients while seeking opportunities to improve the existing application architect and system design. The Application Development Manager will work closely with Senior IT Leaders to define BeneSys’ IT strategy.
The Application Development Manager will be a critical part of the strategy to improve the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and test automation processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentorship to build high-performing team environments.
- Provide technical and professional growth opportunities for individual developers.
- Assure the reliability and performance of BeneSys products.
- Interface with product owners and leaders to design technical solutions for strategic SaaS initiatives.
- Develop metrics to measure team success and system performance.
- Provide advice on technology solutions contribute to productivity, scalability, and security.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging trends and developments in technology that could impact BeneSys.
- Maintain ongoing awareness of security best practices and standards.
- Implement and maintain security processes and procedures for application development lifecycle.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Programming, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of management experience in an IT environment
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, proven by a track record of success
- Experience in developing secure web applications, web services, and APIs using .Net
- Experience developing SQL queries and stored procedures in Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience in multiple software development lifecycles including waterfall and agile
- Experience providing IT solutions in a highly secured environment preferred
- Experience providing IT solutions in a high-volume, high-performance environment preferred
- Ability to translate use cases and/or functional specifications into strong technical designs
- Ability to dissect and understand existing technical specifications
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug highly technical issues
- Possess strong communication skills including proficiency in both written and spoken English
- Self-motivated and capable of working in a dynamic environment
Skills
- Experience developing applications and APIs residing in Azure
- Experience in the Java ecosystem
- Experience in Test Automation
Work Schedule
Full time, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is an in-office position in BeneSys’ Carmel, Indiana office, but there is some work-from-home flexibility.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $140,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual salary will be dependent on skills, experience, education and other business factors.
