CL27: $61,220 - $99,548 Pay Table DEN
CL28: $73,387 - $119,303 Pay Table DEN

The United States District of Colorado is accepting applications for the position of Applications Administrator. We are seeking an innovative and experienced individual to serve as part of our court operations team and to provide specialized operational court support district wide. The U.S. District Court is a public service organization focused on providing exceptional customer service to the court, members of the legal community, and the public. This position will report directly to our Chief Deputy Clerk of Operations.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
The representative duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Primarily responsible for the functioning and efficiency of the court's single task and integrated software application packages, e.g. CM/ECF, CEO, CMAssist, and serves as the principal tester and coordinator of the applications software.
- Tests and verifies all changes to the court applications prior to being released for use by end users, by performing feature and functional testing of new releases of the CM/ECF, CMAssist and CEO systems, as well as other various court systems and related applications.
- Prepares end-user documentation and assists with training staff on new features and components of system upgrades.
- Responsible for the configuration of CM/ECF and its docket dictionary for internal and external users over all databases. Researches, creates, tests, and implements any changes resulting from new versions, feature implementations, or mandates from the Administrative Office.
- Provides managers and court operations staff with instruction on enhancements, changes and new releases as required. Works with the court operations staff on procedural changes and modifications to effectively maintain the court's dictionary.
- Collects, analyzes, and validates CM/ECF reports to ensure system reports, queries, and information are reviewed and remain accurate and complete to maintain the credibility and integrity of the data, automation system, and the Court.
- Works directly with users to explain the causes of errors found and actions necessary to prevent reoccurrence. Evaluates and recommends corrective action and recommends relevant training on specific events or case types where it might be necessary.
- Continually analyzes CM/ECF, CMAssist and CEO processes and procedures for any enhancements required to streamline court operations and recommends any necessary changes.
- Manages CM/ECF user account information for internal court users, other government agencies, and attorneys. Manages CMAssist and CEO account information for internal court users.
- Maintains strong technical, operational, analytical, and customer service skills in order to troubleshoot issues with electronic filing issues for individuals within the court and legal community.
- Serves as liaison between IT and Clerk's Office, Chambers and Probation staff on application updates and projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for a CL 26, the applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience. To qualify for a CL 27, the applicant must have at least two years of specialized experience.
General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the possession of,
or the ability to acquire, the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the position's duties.
Specialized Experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience requiring the regular and recurring application of clerical procedures that demonstrate the ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws and involve the routine use of specialized terminology and automated software and equipment for word processing, data entry or report generation. Such experience is commonly encountered in law firms, legal counsel
offices, banking and credit firms, educational institutions, social service organizations, insurance companies, real estate and title offices, and corporate headquarters or human resources/payroll operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of federal judiciary experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CM/ECF, CMAssist and CEO court programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe applications.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Employees must adhere to a Code of Conduct. This position is subject to mandatory fund transfer (EFT) participation, adherence to 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B) regarding hiring of lawful permanent residents, and FBI fingerprint and background check. This position is classified as “sensitive,” and employment will be considered provisional pending the successful completion of an FBI fingerprint check and may be subject to periodic updates.
An internal reassignment (current employees of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado) requires a mandatory 6-month probationary period. New hires (including transfers from within the Judiciary) require a mandatory 12-month probationary period.
