Title: Applications Engineer
Reports to: Technical Sales Support Manager
Status: Full-time
Working Hours: 8am – 5pm
Working Location: Hybrid (Work-from-Home / Rockmart, GA Office)
Purpose of Position:
Miura America Co., LTD. manufactures steam boilers for a variety of industries, including hospitals, breweries, chemical manufacturing, and food production. Working in the Technical Sales Support department at Miura involves completing tasks with a wide range of knowledge from different engineering disciplines during the selling project phase. Applications Engineers will be able to work with heat transfer problems, system designs, electrical systems, mechanical systems, fuel delivery systems, and equipment network systems. Daily interaction with employees at all levels within Miura, including sales, maintenance, administration, production engineers, and factory employees will provide different inputs into completing projects. Candidates that perform with excellent attention to detail, understanding of steam generation systems, and excellent verbal and written communication skills will succeed in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Sales by answering direct engineering support requests and coordinating with internal departments to develop Miura total solutions for new and retrofit steam plant projects, including MI System sizing and applications, BP settings, networking (DS-NET and MNET3) and customer-specific application calculations within the department’s guidelines for timeliness and efficiency in the Case Management System.
- Coordinate information gathering and analysis of customer’s steam and energy demands through In Service Efficiency study program administered by the Application Engineering Department.
- Create and update official technical documentation (manuals, specifications, calculators, etc.) as assigned by the Technical Sales Support Manager.
- Maintain product and installation compliance with government and other applicable agency regulations (ASME, UL, NFPA, NBIC, etc.)
- Create and revise engineering drawings for design and installation support (boiler room layout, boiler schematics, and customer P&ID).
- Act as a project leader for various development and continuous improvement projects.
- Support training events for customers, representatives, and Miura personnel.
- Assist Production Engineering by analyzing sales and maintenance feedback for future improvements to Miura products
Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks (other similar CAD programs may be accepted).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work in a small company and open work environment.
- Great communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred:
- Experience with ASME section 1 and section 8 code is a plus but not required.
- Experience with UL standards is a plus but not required.
- Experience with heat transfer and fluid analysis is a plus but not required.
- Experience with equipment or machine design is a plus but not required.
- Experience with simple electronic controls such as switches, and relays is a plus but not required.
