Position Summary

The Filtration Group is looking for a full time Area HR Manager to provide leadership and strategice direction for our HR teams within the Division. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Operations with a strong dotted line to the Vice President of Operations.

Your Organizational Impact:

Strategic Partner - Understanding and involvement in business issues, participation in business task forces, provide program management of workforce planning, skills assessment, succession planning, learning and development, champion of Company culture and management practices. Global thought process.

Process Excellence - Continuous improvement and automation of HR processes such, as but not limited to, benefits administration, employee record keeping, recruitment/staffing process, occupational health/safety, and compensation/pay activities. Ability to apply Lean and/or Six
Sigma tools to the HR function.

Employee Champion - Champion employee communication programs that provide employees open, candid, and frequent information sharing with management, develop employee involvement systems, develop self directed teams, and ensure work environment provides opportunity for celebration and openness. Provide due process to associates to deal with differences, development of employee skills, SOP development, and performance management development systems.

Change Agent - Act as liaison for leading change, create understanding among associates about the need to change and how change will help them and the business in the short and long term, assist in the modification of systems and structures to support needed change, monitor progress by developing measures for change, and develop long and short term plans to keep attention focused on change.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

Reports directly to the Group Vice President, Human Resources, with a strong dotted line operationally reporting to the VP Operations. Provides leadership for Division Human Resources Managers, Plant/Assistant Human Resource Managers, and supporting staff human resources functions. Partner with General Managers & Division staff members. Position will serve to provide strategic direction from the Area and Division perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategic management, design, and implementation of all Area Human Resources policies, including labor and employee relations.
  • Provides leadership by promoting team concepts through coaching, counseling, mentoring, developing, as well as individual development.
  • Promotes and encourages the development of people to ensure leadership continuity. Reviews talent pool/ succession management and staffing plans to ensure that they are consistent and competitive for attainment of Area and Division objectives.
  • Accountable for the compliance of Corporate, Group, and Division Human Resources programs to meet Company policy and governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for the analysis and management of compensation systems to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Responsible for the management of Manufacturing Safety Programs and administration of the Workers' Compensation Self-Insured Program.
  • Responsible for the administration and cost containment of area and division benefit programs.
  • Responsible for change management consultation/facilitation. Ability to lead organizational design and development activities.
  • Responsible for ongoing redesign and restructuring of job classifications as needed to maintain alignment with business needs.
  • Works with Operations to assess and implement employee relations programs as they relate to work/life initiatives to ensure “Employer of Choice” status.
  • Proactively manages EEO/diversity and glass ceiling coordination and programs of employment training, diversity, and equal employment opportunity.
  • Fully leads in promoting and supporting the Company's Win Strategy of Premier Customer Service, Financial Performance, Profitable Growth, and Empowered Employees. Measures the effectiveness and efficiency of area and division continuous improvement plans.
  • Provides counsel and assistance on personnel matters to the Company for continued and profitable operations.
  • Promotes the divisions in industry, manufacturing, trade associations and community relations.
  • Teams with other Area Human Resources Managers, Division Human Resources Managers and Corporate staff personnel in task force projects to ensure competitive practices and policies are maintained.
  • Leads the area’s performance management programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' Degree, with an advanced degree in Business or Human Resources Management preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage in a global economy.
  • Seven or more years of increasing experience and responsibility including prior human resource leadership and/or management roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others.
  • Heavy travel required; at times over 30%.
  • Must have ability to handle diverse responsibilities and be able adapt to a variety of human resource issues. Able to perform each essential function with a high level of expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving/resolution skills and a team focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and employees.
  • Experience in maintaining a nonunion presence or in the administration of a collective bargaining agreement including grievance investigation, responses and participation in contract negotiations desirable
