Job description
This position acts as a float in our Fabrication and Bear Track assembly line.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ASSEMBLY
- Work with team on the production line, assisting in the completion of Bear Track Trailers
- Utilize a variety of tools, including pneumatic tools, table and chop saws, shear, in the assembly of Voyager’s proprietary products
- Review work orders and blueprints to ensure work is performed according to specifications
- Rotate through all tasks required in a particular production process
- Operate forklift and stand uplift as necessary
- Assist with training new employees in the department as needed.
- Maintain production equipment and machinery
- Shovel, sweep, or otherwise clean work areas
- Follow proper safety protocols
- Follow all quality guidelines; perform quality checks on products and parts
FABRICATION
- Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble aluminum components
- Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances
- Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten aluminum
- Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data
- Turn controls to set cutting speeds, feed rates, or table angles for specified operations
- Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws
- Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers
- Operate forklifts to deliver materials, as needed
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, and Credentials:
Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Able to perform simple shop math
- Take pride in Voyager Industries, its missions, values, and goals while representing the organization positively in the workplace and in the community
- Perform other duties as assigned
Hours: Mon-Friday, 6am - 2:30pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.25 - $19.60 per hour
