Green Oak Charter Township is hiring an Assessor, MCAO to assist the Township Assessor in a variety of routine and complex technical field and office work in the appraisal, preparation, and defense of the Assessment Roll.

This is a full-time position with a competitive pay rate based on skills and experience. The compensation package includes health benefits, paid time off, and pension plan. Please note that Green Oak Charter Township currently pays for 100% of the premium costs for employees and eligible dependents for medical, dental, and vision!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading and sketching construction plans using Apex
- Residential property field inspections
- Valuing residential properties
- Personal property canvassing
- Working with the Township Assessor to prepare sales and ECF studies
- Preparation of the Boards of Review
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- MCAO certificate issued by the State Tax Commission
- 2+ years of experience appraising residential properties including both office and field work
- Experience with CAMA software, Apex, BSA, Excel, Word and GIS
- Ability to read, understand and apply appraisal techniques and STC approved manuals
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Self-directed and ability to work under stress
- Valid driver’s license
