Assistant Attorney General

Health Care & Fair Competition Bureau

Antitrust Division

The Office of the Attorney General is looking for an experienced and highly motivated attorney to join the Antitrust Division as an Assistant Attorney General to lead challenging and cutting-edge enforcement actions aimed at protecting Massachusetts consumers and our competitive free enterprise system. The Antitrust Division reviews proposed mergers and investigates alleged anticompetitive conduct in a variety of industries. Recent antitrust cases or matters brought by the Attorney General have involved, among other areas, airlines, technology, health care, communications, and pharmaceuticals.

Primary Duties: The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) will represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in investigations and litigation before state and federal courts and will be responsible for handling a substantial number of matters involving the enforcement of state and federal antitrust laws. Cases will cover a broad range of industries and will often pose complex and, in certain circumstances, cutting-edge legal and economic issues. In addition to handling their own cases, the AAG will work with other attorneys, including, in some cases, Assistant Attorneys General from other states across the country and attorneys with the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. The AAG may be involved in policy development, including drafting or reviewing proposed legislation.

Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt

Salary: Salary is based on JD year and experience.
