Summary: This organized, patient, dependable individual works directly with the lead baker prepping, scooping and packaging bakery items, and will train to serve as a backup to the lead the baker. Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-noon. Willing to train the right candidate.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Aid in preparing and packaging delicious and nutritious desserts utilizing local products whenever possible/feasible.
  • Help manage baked goods production schedule.
  • Maintain the kitchen by cleaning prep areas before and after use and making sure that all critical equipment is clean.
  • Perform cleaning duties using established sanitation procedures in the kitchen.
  • May be required to perform tasks outside of job description when needed. This includes but is not limited to helping other kitchen staff when able.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Read and follow recipes, making mathematical adjustments for quantity when needed.
  • Mature person able to work in variety of situations with clients, volunteers and donors.
  • Strong oral communications skills.
  • Knowledge of working in a commercial kitchen is a plus.
  • Organized.
  • Must be able to function under limited supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain quality and product control.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One year related experience preferred.
  • Non-profit and/or volunteer experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Demands: This position may require the person to sit or stand for 6+ hours at a time, walk, bend, drive, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
