Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Dean for Student Engagement and Wellbeing. The Assistant Dean for Student Engagement and Wellbeing is responsible for leadership and oversight of the programs and support services for all current students within the School of Nursing. Such programs and services include (orientation, student developmental programming, and activities, disability services, referrals to various campus and university resources such as health/counseling, financial aid, athletics, and campus-wide programming, etc.

- Implements the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for all students and assumes responsibility as the school’s liaison to the university for student Title IX matters.
- Manages their team in guiding faculty and staff through managing students of concern while facilitating the students of concern process.
- Advises faculty on the management of student behavioral concerns.
- Collaborates with all offices within the School of Nursing to support student development.
- Responsible for the management of relationships between the School of Nursing and university-wide student services divisions and departments on the Newark, Newark Health Sciences, and New Brunswick campuses.
- Possess a breadth of knowledge and understanding of all processes taking place within the Rutgers School of Nursing Division of Student Affairs and work closely with the senior vice dean in the provision of their work.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of five years of directly-related experience of increasing responsibility in a leadership or managerial role that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of strategic planning, team-building, leadership skills, student development, student wellness, and support services.

- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, is required.
- The ability to work independently, multi-task and problem-solve is essential.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships across the school and university is essential.
- Advanced knowledge and background in student development, student wellness, and support services.
- Prior experience in managing and supervising staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree in student personnel services, social work, higher education administration, management, or other related field is strongly preferred.
Equipment Utilized
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Access, and Excel.
- Will need to have or learn all Rutgers software/web resources.
