LIFE Cape Cod is expanding with a new community on South Street in Hyannis. We are seeking an:

Assistant Director of Supported Independent Living (SIL)

NOTE: You must live on Cape Cod, MA–this position is NOT remote.

Living Independently Forever, Inc. (LIFE), a non-profit supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, has an exciting and fun, full time opportunity for an experienced Human Services Professional with a passion for helping people develop independent living skills and live their best lives.

The Assistant Director of Supported Independent Living will support a vibrant group of young adults in the Hyannis area through a combination of direct and supervisory services.

The person in this position will maintain 25 hours a week of casework and money management services and:

• Supervise LIFE Coaches in their delivery of services,
• Interview and hire staff,
• Liaison with families and other stake holders
• Ensure services are provided to each individual as agreed upon in the annual service contract.

The location of this Supported Independent Living community is surrounded by fun things to do and great restaurants, all within walking distance.

There is an art gallery on the premises, which will feature shows throughout the summer, and classroom space for art classes.

The families of the young adults are connecting with artists and community leaders to add to a busy, exciting social calendar. This group will also have the opportunity to connect with the larger LIFE community .

Are you the energetic, experienced, engaged professional to help us launch this wonderful group of recent graduates into their adult lives?

Job requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or five or more years of related and progressive experience with individuals with disabilities.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organized and efficient, and have proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Above all, the person in this position must possess passion and skills for helping others.

$1,000 Sign-on Bonus ($500 at 3 months, $500 at 6 months – must maintain all required trainings.)

Starting at $41,000 Annually plus Bonus, full or part-time position.

Applicant must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and dependable transportation. Must be able to pass DPPC, CORI and fingerprinting background checks through our governing agency, DDS.

Must have current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or be willing to attend training through LIFE.
