Job description

Accountable for the delivery of high-quality care and administrative management of Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery, Sterile Processing, Pain Clinic, and Endoscopy departments on a 24-hour basis. Functions within the scope of the mission and vision of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, HIPAA regulations, and the Code of Professional and Business Ethics. Accountable for, but not limited to, performance improvement activities, infection control guidelines and safety measures. Manages the operating room schedule and emergency procedures. Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the clinical and operational aspects of the department. Assists with preparation of the budget; monitors supply and staffing costs. Works in operating rooms when needed. Troubleshoots technical aspects.

Motivating - Actively creates a positive environment that supports GVMH Mission, Vision, Values and objectives
Compliance - Acts responsibly in abiding by the principles and standards set forth in the Compliance Plan

Educational Requirements
High school plus specialized training

Experience/Supervisory Requirements
Three to five years' experience working in Surgical Services
Supervisory experience desired

Licenses and Certifications
MO Registered Nurse License or Certified Surgical Technician Certification in good standing
BLS certification within 30 days of hire
ACLS certification within six months of hire
