Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Ballyfin Demesne 5 Star luxury country house hotel in the heart of Ireland. Set at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the centre of Ireland, Ballyfin is a place of history and romance, of tranquillity and great natural beauty.

Location: Ballyfin, Co Laois

Rate of Pay: € 35-40 K per annum plus gratuities

Hours: Fulltime 5 / 7 days a week

Candidates must have legal status to live and work in The Republic of Ireland

Requirements:

You should have experience working a in a similar standard property in Ireland or Internationally.

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, will be responsible to provide the highest possible standards of service, and guest comfort at all times and to promote a positive image to both guests and colleagues alike.

In conjunction with the F&B manager, this position has responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the food & beverage service in the hotel and assisting in setting the required five-star standards. This job will also be responsible for the leadership and training of the Food & Beverage Supervisors & Assistants.

Responsibilities:

• To communicate effectively with your team members, promoting good working relationships and creating a positive working environment and culture.
• Responsible for assessing staffing requirements and completing the rosters
• To deliver training to the team members
• Maintain and build a close working relationship with the Head Chef and his team at all times
• Deal with guests needs in order to enhance quality service and in turn enhance client experience
• Keep yourself up to date on the daily menus and wine offerings to ensure you can make suitable recommendations and answer any guest questions and queries
• To handle and deal with guest’s comments discretely,
• Complete stocktakes as and when required
• Plan, organise, control and review all service and systems to provide the best possible service to guests.
• To ensure a high level of hygiene throughout the department, and ensure all of the team respect and maintain the equipment and furniture in the restaurant and lounge areas.
• To work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager in achieving required targets.
• To attend daily operational meetings and conduct daily team briefings with your team members

The Successful candidate must have:

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Fluent English with strong communication skills
• Professional and well-groomed
• Excellent knowledge of food & beverage including knowledge of wine/whiskey/Cocktails
• A personable, charismatic and well-rounded hotelier preferably with supervisory & leadership experience within a luxury hotel background
• A culture creator that understands the importance and value of people and how to create a workplace where our people are of equal value as our guests
• A great team player that can motivate and lead staff members

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: €35,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
