The Dairygold Ireland Finance team acts as a service function for each of the functional departments, including Commercial, Operations, Quality Assurance/Control, Supply Chain, Strategic Projects etc. The Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in the generation of reliable and accurate weekly/monthly KPI reports which facilitate effective Management decision making. They are involved in generating Weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Monthly Management Accounts, and the Annual Financial Budget. The individual will be involved in the identification of issues/opportunities in their relevant areas as early as possible and ensure these are addressed appropriately. They will work as part of the Castlefarm Finance team to ensure successful delivery of the objectives of the department and the organisation.
Core responsibilities for this role include:
  • Analyse, report and provision of detailed weekly financial and non-financial operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare, review, and report the Weekly Estimates on a Monday for the previous week.
  • Prepare, review, and report the Weekly P&L, highlighting and commentating on significant variances against Budget.
  • Work with the Castlefarm Finance Business Partner on reporting and explaining all variances for Benefits tracker reporting.
  • Preparation of the Monthly accounts for areas of the Castlefarm P&L and report explanations of variances arising.
  • Work with other members of the team in reporting production data on a weekly and monthly basis. To include transacting product and raw material batches on Oracle Ebiz.
  • Ensure requisitions for Capex are uploaded on a timely basis and the ordering process runs smoothly.
  • Track and analyse Maintenance spend on a weekly basis against budget, identifying any overspends and communicating these to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Work with other members of the team to analyse OPEX spend, highlight overspends and identify where savings can be made in conjunction with the various Area Leads/Managers.
  • To work with team members in preparing the Annual Financial Budget especially in respect of Product Recipes, Energy, Maintenance and Opex.
  • In conjunction with other members of the team, conduct periodic spot checks on stock of consumables and Finished Goods Products.
  • Undertake and participate in Continuous Improvement Activities for the Castlefarm Finance Department.
  • Assisting in ad-hoc reports and project work as required.

  • Numerate and I.T. literate, proficient with Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Oracle is a distinct advantage.
